{"id":8669,"date":"2026-07-12T15:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T13:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.parcanimalierlabarben.com\/animal\/akatia-protection-des-primates-en-cote-divoire\/"},"modified":"2026-07-27T10:53:57","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T08:53:57","slug":"akatia-protection-des-primates-en-cote-divoire","status":"publish","type":"animal","link":"https:\/\/www.parcanimalierlabarben.com\/en\/animal\/akatia-protection-des-primates-en-cote-divoire\/","title":{"rendered":"Akatia &#8211; Protection of primates in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in 2017, the Akatia association is a conservation NGO that acts directly on the ground in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire to preserve tropical forests but also to protect primates, such as West African chimpanzees, various species of cercopithecus, mangabeys and patas.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Akatia teams work directly in the heart of the forest to monitor the animals and their habitat. The association manages two sanctuaries hosting chimpanzees and several species of small monkeys that are victims of illegal trafficking and poaching.
