Blue and yellow macaw

About This Project

Blue and yellow macaw

Found in the Amazon forest, this macaw eats seeds, fruit and nectar. Its strong beak means it can eat nuts and seeds that other species cannot manage.

The blue and yellow macaw’s striking colours, intelligence and ability to mimic human voices make it very popular… Many are caught and sold on to unscrupulous dealers, with numbers dying in the process. They are also under threat from hunting and habitat destruction.

You will be amazed by their powerful cry and their dazzling colours!
